Set a Goal

For the greatest impact, we recommend setting a goal for your group’s event or project. It might be helpful to ask a few questions beforehand to help focus your efforts and be successful.

  • What goal do we want to reach?
Goals can be purely financial or directed at raising sufficient funds to donate a specific tool or project — like donating a well or 5 bikes. This can be particularly useful in helping guests and sponsors understand both the purpose of the event and how their participation has impact. Please contact shana[at]globalcocoaproject.org and she will send you a list of villages in Côte d’Ivoire that are the GCP is supporting and what they need. There is a budget associated with each village which will aid you in setting a fundraising goal.
  • What type of event do we want to host?
As you think about the type of event you’d like to host or sponsor, be creative. Chocolate as a theme gives you enormous flexibility.
  • How do I connect with chocolatiers and access other resources to help make the event a success?
Let us help! The Global Cocoa Project team has experience planning and executing these kinds of events and we’d love to help you with yours.

About the Project
